Solenoid valves (Electromagnetic valves) are automatic valves with a piston controlled by an electromagnet. There are two main types of solenoid valves- open and closed.

- The normally open valve is used when a constant flow of liquid or gas is needed, and only when something abnormal happens, the valve will close and stop the flow.

- The normally closed valve is used when a constant flow of liquid or gas is not needed, and the valve needs to open periodically, for example refilling a storage tank.
